Thanks Grandma and Grandpa

Thanks for this great and fun toy!  I love to play!  It was the perfect Easter gift!

A kid's best friend...

So Ethan and our cat Chip are really good friends.  Here is a clip of him talking to Chip.  It's so cute.  They were both so excited that there was a cat sitting outside the door.  Ethan tends to call all cats "bi" b/c our other cat is "vi".  But, his word for Chip is something that I can't begin to say or spell, but he says it a lot in this video.  Enjoy!

I love you face

This is Ethan's mommy I love you face. LOL  Not really sure where it came from, but he wrinkles his nose and then we have to touch noses. Then of course I must wrinkle my nose also.  It's really funny and cute.  We look pretty silly.  Thanks Heather for taking this picture so that I can finally see what we look like!

It's back!!

The swing that is!!  He loved it when he was 6 months old, hated it last year, and now loves it again! I'm just glad that he still fits!!  I added a picture of him in his swing from today, and one from when he was 6 months old.  Oh and a video!   Enjoy!  (see if you can understand him in the video...I understand everything!)

Okay, more proof...

Okay, so here you go.  See, he learned it from his Dad.  I know, I know I've already blogged about this, but I was laughing so hard last night.  I mean, come on!! You have to admit it's funny.  That's right, get the little one trained and I won't have to lift a finger around here.  My boys will do all the cleaning!

Just so everyone knows.

This is what I'm doing over spring break.  Yep the laundry.  I know, that's a lot, especially for only three people.  You don't even want to see how much is left in the laundry room.  Okay, so the working mom has a hard time getting to all the laundry.  But, that's what spring break is for.  So no I don't have any big exciting plans, we aren't going anywhere, but I am going to have fun doing the laundry and staying home with my little man.

Like Father Like Son?

What do you think?  You all know he didn't learn this from me.

A day with my sick kid

So I took a few pictures the last time E was sick.  Well, actually when he had the croup not the ear infection.  We have a fun day, usually, when I stay home with him.  We have special play time and tons of cuddle time.  (I never get cuddle time unless he's sick, or asleep b/c he's always on the move)  Anyway, just though I would share our sick days at home.  The first picture he was really sick and had a 103.4 temp.  Poor kid.  The others, we were having art time.  (thanks for the cool art desk mom and dad)

One year and one week

One day and one week.  That's how long we were ear infection free.  Well, it was good while it lasted.  For those of you that don't know, we battled ear infections during Ethan's first year.  He had 11 ear infections in a 6 month period, then we put tubes in.

Last night was bad.  I mean bad.  We haven't had a night like that in such a long time.
Ethan was up most of the night screaming.  We didn't know what was wrong until he started grabbing his ear.  But, we still didn't think it was really an ear infection.  Ethan finally fell asleep around 2:30am.  He had to sleep sitting up with me holding him, so not a great night.  Then this morning the gunk started pouring out of his ear.  So gross!!

E's babyhood friend

Have I told you that E has a little girlfriend?  Well he has since before birth! Okay well maybe I should say best friend, they can decide to later be boyfriend/girlfriend.  I'm not trying to push this on him, really I'm not.  My best friend, Linnie,  had her baby girl a week before I had E.  They are so cute together and play wonderfully.  You should see them interact.  Linnie and I used to sit and just watch them sleep and now we watch them run all over the place.  Anyway, they don't get together enough since I work.  But, next week is spring break and we are ready to let them play!

Snow!! Finally!

So we finally had some snow here in East Tn.  I was starting to think that E would never get to experience it.  He now yells "snow!" when he sees it starting to fall, followed up with a "go see?"!  He's so cute.  I had to work on his first snow day (I'm not sure how Knox County missed the memo that they should close school, but they did ) so Dan had to take E out before he went to daycare.  So all I have of the experience is some pictures and Dan's explanation of what happened.  Dan said that he was unsure of the snow, and wouldn't touch it until the very end.  But, he did put one finger in the snow, so I can say that my baby has touched snow.

Happy Anniversary!!!

4 years.  Yep Dan and I have been married for 4 years now.  Happy Anniversary to us.  It seems much longer than that, and if you count the two years that we dated... well you can do the math.  I am so happy to be married to Dan.  He is wonderful.  He is my best friend and makes me laugh.  I seriously could not begin to imagine life without him and am so thankful that we are together.

To celebrate our anniversary we went out to dinner at the Melting Pot.  Yumm!!!  It was wonderful.  Know what else was wonderful?  A night with no E!  My parents offered to keep him overnight and it was so great sleeping in.  (until 8am, who knew that 8am would one day become sleeping in?)
Of course I missed the little guy and asked Dan a few hundred times if he thought he was okay.  It was nice picking him up this morning and giving him a big hug.  He was so loving and cuddly also, which he never is.  Well, turns out his fever is back.  **sigh**  I'm hoping it's that molar that's causing this fever and not a sickness.  But, you know I'm not that lucky.  Poor sick kid.

My baby isn't a baby anymore

That's right.  E is sick  with the croup again, so I took him to the doctor today.  I know it's the croup as this is his 5th time getting it.  But, I just wanted to make sure and they often will give him a steroid shot if his airways are tight.

Anyway, it came time to get his weight and they told me to take off his shoes.  "What?" I said, "you don't need him down to a dry diaper?"  Nope.  Apparently he is now a big boy and can stand on the big kid scale!  Oh, my he's getting so big and it seems like such a small thing, but to me it was a big deal.  He can stand on the big kid scale and follow directions.
Where did my fat chubby little baby go?

Dr. Seuss's birthday

Was a hit!! We had a blast.  The fifth grade team dressed up as Thing one, thing two, etc.  We sprayed our hair blue and the kids loved it.  It's so much fun to do stuff like this now and again.  We made Oobleck and Green eggs and Ham.  I can't wait until next year.  We'll have to think up something bigger and better.  Now, some of the teachers thought we were crazy, but hey nothing wrong with making the day a little more fun, huh.  It was great.
