Blog slacker

So I've been a blog slacker lately.  I just seem to be to busy or way to tired to post anything.  Ethan is sick again.  Another ear infection and the croup.  (seems we may have to put those tubes back in)

We have finished Ethan's "big boy" room.  Well, it's been done for several weeks.  I have pictures, I just need to upload them to my computer.  I will post pictures soon.  

Oma came to visit this week.  Ethan loved every moment that she was here.  He was quite sad today when she left with Bianca and family.  He said "I want my Oma back".  Of course he was sick for her entire visit, but you could tell that he really enjoyed every moment.  

The gestational diabetes is doing good.  My sugar levels have been great and I've actually started losing weight instead of gaining.  I lost five pounds last doctor's apt.  So I think that I won't even get to 20 pounds of weight gain with this one.  I gained 32 with Ethan.  So that is one plus in my mind.  As long as the baby is doing well, I'm fine with the weight loss.  The diet isn't that much fun.  But, it's not that hard.  No sweets at all, no fruit juice at all, and well carbs are hard.  I miss rice, mac and cheese, and baked potatoes.  

From momma to mom...

So today I went from momma to mom.  I'm sad.  I'm not ready to be "mom" yet.  I want to be momma or at least mommy.  Hmmm.... not sure how this came about.  But, every time Ethan would call for me it was "moooom".  Just like a big kid!  Gosh he's growing up so fast.  ( I did become momma a few more times, so maybe it's not gone for good)  

Also, Ethan started calling Daniel, Dan! LOL It was so funny.  I was mom and Dan was Dan.  Not sure where he heard that either, b/c I call Dan, Daniel for the most part.  

We have a sick kiddo.

It makes me sad to see him like this.  He started running a fever on Sunday.  So Dan stayed home with him on Monday and Tuesday.  His fever would go away during the day only to return at night.  I stayed home with him today and well he seemed to be getting worse.  At 11am his temp was 102.2, and when I looked over he had fallen asleep on his lunch.  My kid never falls asleep in odd places and at odd times like that. We had his three year well check apt. today and found out he has an ear infection.  Lovely.  His tubes just fell out.  Dan will stay home again tomorrow and hopefully by Friday he'll be feeling better.  

Gestational diabetes

Yep, I have it.  I really didn't think I would, b/c I didn't have it with Ethan.  But, I am now being treated for this.  So far not much fun.  I have to prick my finger four times a day to test my blood sugar levels.  It's not as bad as I thought it would be though.  

Dan and I go on Friday morning to meet with the dietician to learn exactly what I can eat and how much.  I've cut out sugars and most carbs until then.  (so not my normal diet)  But, I'll do what I need to, in order to keep little Owen healthy.  It's not for so long either, right? Only what 10 more weeks, maybe less?  (don't say maybe more, I do not want to go overdue!)  

Another snow day?

Wow, so yeah another snow day!  Who can believe it? This time we actually got some more snow.  School was let out at 12:30 because it was really coming down and the temperature was dropping.  My mom picked up Ethan from daycare and I went over to her house to pick him up.  We came home and of course had to play in the snow.  We actually were able to make a snowman this time around.  It was hard, I don't have gloves and well it was cold! So well he's a little odd looking, but hey it was enough to make Ethan happy.  His first snowman!  Oh, and of course he had to try the snow.  I guess all little kids just have to try it!
