We've been keeping busy around here.  We had family over, went to visit family, and have just been hanging around the house.
Family came over and Owen and I stayed in the shade and watched all the fun.
The slip n' slide was brought out.  This was so funny.  Ethan would back up and run full blast until he got to the slide, then he'd stop and just crawl onto it! Uncle Matt would have to give him a push to get him going down the slide.
The baby pool wasn't quite as much fun, but it got some use also.
Owen was held by everyone.  Aunt Bianca taking her turn.
The cousins.  Clark, Dean, Ethan, Eve, and Owen.  This is the best picture we've ever been able to get of the kids.  It did take a while to get it though.
Uncle Matt gets his turn.
Dean loving on baby Owen.
I think Eve held Owen the most!  She loves him.
My dad (Papa) getting some baby Owen time in.
Grandma, Ethan, and Owen.
Ethan helping Owen out by giving him his paci, and holding it in his mouth.
Owen sleeping and getting some pictures taken of him, again.
Owen getting a bath.  Well, a sponge bath.  He was not happy about it.
Life with our boys is fun.  It is challenging and tiring but fun.  Ethan has done pretty well.  Much better than I thought he would.  He loves helping with Owen, and giving Owen hugs and kisses.  He is a bit more pouty than normal and if he doesn't get his way, he lets you know about it.  But, over all he's been a great big brother.  Let's hope that it keeps up this way.  Oh, and that Owen learns to let me sleep more than two hours at a time.

Life is busy

Well, life as a family of four has been great so far.  It's been nice being home and having everyone together.  Our first night home was good.  Owen slept most of the night.  We had to get up a few times and feed him but that was it.  Then early the next morning, Ethan woke up and joined us in bed.  The four of us were just cuddled together in the same bed and it was so sweet.  I admit that I started crying a little because I was just so happy.

When I see my boys together it just warms my heart.  Ethan is in love with Owen.  He wants to hold him, play with him, and just help out.  We have had a sibling moment.  Ethan threw a toy lemon and it happened to hit Owen right in the head.  (that had to be a million dollar shot) Your first instinct is to be mad, but of course he didn't mean to do it.  There was never anyone that he might hit with a toy before.  So we had a talk about throwing toys and Ethan gave Owen a kiss.  So poor Owen is going to be beat up, but I guess that's the life of a second child.  Things aren't as quiet and calm, as they were for the first one.

We have settled in pretty well.  Ethan is at daycare today and tomorrow.  He just got moved up to the three year old room today.  They finally have room for him in there.  So we thought that getting used to that room would be a good thing for him.  Plus, it gives me a few more days to heal and rest.
Ethan decided that he wanted to read a book to Owen.  It was so sweet and I loved it!
All in all we are doing great and are happy.  We are so blessed to have our two boys.

Owen

Is here!!!  :)
He arrived on 4/14/09 at 2:34pm.  He weighed in at 7 lbs 14oz.  So he was a peanut! I kept saying "oh he's so little!"
He is completely perfect and beautiful!  Of course we are biased.  His hair looks like a mix b/w red and blond, so strawberry blond?  He's just wonderful and we are already in love with him!
These pictures are so out of order, but I am to tired to worry about it!

Right after his first bath! He was not happy!

Grandma and Grandpa get their first look
The Big Brother! Love the shirts! Thanks to my great 5th grade team for getting them. Owen has one also that says the little brother, but it's to big right now.
Ethan checking out Owen.
My new little guy!
Ethan finally agreed to hold Owen. It didn't last long.
All in all, it was a great experience.  This one was much better than Ethan's birth.  Maybe b/c I knew what to expect. But, mostly b/c I had the most wonderful nurse and a great doctor.  Dan helped out a ton, and really had to get involved.  Ethan is proud of his baby and seemed to warm up more as his visit went on.  He is going to be a great big brother.
Thanks everyone for the well wishes!

Inchworm

Who knew that an inchworm could be so fascinating?  But, to a three year old, everything is new.  Ethan discovered an inchworm on our back deck on Saturday.  So we looked at it, touched it, and talked to it!
We discovered that if you poke at it a little he will start moving again.
The little worm entertained Ethan for a good 30 min.
Here is a close up of the little tiny inchworm.  There he is inching across the table.
Every time that the worm would get close to the edge of the table, Ethan would yell out for Dan to come help him!  It was adorable.

We planted flowers on Saturday.  Could we have asked for a better day?  It was so pretty and the sky was so blue!
Well, Ethan and Dan did the work, while I watched.
Ethan loved watering the flowers.
Actually, anything that Dan is doing, Ethan loves helping out.  He thinks he is so big, and lets face it, he is getting big!

Tulips

So here are my beautiful tulips! Aren't they great?  Dan planted them this winter, and they finally sprouted!  Ethan loves them and every day has to go see if more have bloomed.  Here's the thing, it's cold.  They are calling for snow.  Will they survive?
