Kindergarten

I can't brag on one, without bragging on the other. So here is Ethan's brag post. Ethan has started Kindergarten. I can't believe it. He's in school. I didn't get upset... I get to see him more now than before. I get to see that sweet boy in the hall, at lunch, on the playground, just random times throughout the day. It's so fun to see him give me a huge grin and a wave when he sees me. (let's see what he does in 5th grade... I don't think he'll be quite as happy to see me.)
Ethan is doing fabulous in Kindergarten. He is getting pulled out of class for 30 minutes a day to "learn to read", as Ethan puts it. He is one of the highest kids at Dogwood and so him and two little girls get pulled out for an advanced class. He brings home a folder and in his folder there are sentences that he has to read every night. He is flying through these sentences and learning more words every day. I did tear up tonight watching him "read" and get so excited about it. I hope that he keeps this love for learning for the rest of his school career. I enjoy watching him learn and well it makes life easier if he likes homework.

Can you believe it?

This guy is TOTALLY POTTY TRAINED!!! :) YES!!! I can't believe it! He trained in a weekend and that was it. Easy as can be. I thought it would be hard, b/c Ethan also trained in a weekend (and surely it can't be easy twice.... right? ), but nope he was easy. I just put underwear on him and once he was physically ready it was a breeze. He will tell you when he has to go to the bathroom, and if you ask him.... "no thanks, I'm fine!" It's hilarious. It totally has to be his idea to go to the bathroom, but that's expected because he's bossy and stubborn about everything.

I am so proud of my little guy. Trained before he's 2 1/2. Plus, he has to go to the bathroom at daycare also, and lets face it that's harder than at home. At home, he has undivided attention to run him to the bathroom in time. But, at school he has to tell the teachers, pull down his own pants, and handle things on his own. (with a little help) He has done fabulous and I am happy that the diapers are gone FOREVER!
