Finally, a Disney post. I've been meaning to do this for months now, but time keeps slipping away. We LOVED Disney. Seriously, LOVED it. We splurged and flew there and the boys were so excited to go on an airplane for the first time. I admit, that I was nervous. I was sure that I would be the one that was stuck in security or that they would pat down one of my kids. Of course, going through security it was my kid that was screaming because he wouldn't take off his shoes. How do you explain that to a two year old anyway? We make him wear shoes when we aren't at home, then we had to take them off and put them in a strange machine? Kinda scary.
So I am pretty sure that the security people wanted nothing more than for us to get through there quickly and be on our way. Which we were thankful for. The rest of the time was fine. We looked at airplanes and waited for our flight. (Oh and Dan totally rolled over my foot with the suitcase, which left a very lovely bruise, and made me hobble the entire Disney trip)
But, we made it to Florida, caught a bus with minimal wait and were at Disney before we knew it.
These pictures are so out of order, but you know. We went to the Magic Kingdom three different days and had the best time there. Everything is just fabulous about the place and there is magic everywhere you look. The boys loved it and it was by far their favorite park.
Ethan on Buzz lightyear ride. We went on this one three or four times. Maybe four. We had fast passes a few times and then were able to walk on once. Owen loved this one also and still talks about it today.
Castle at night. See, I told you they were out of order! LOL Owen and I found a great spot to wait for the parade, two hours before it started. Ethan and Dan went on a few more rides while we saved our spot. Owen had fun playing with the squirt bottle and watching the castle turn colors and I was glad to be sitting down. You really do have to get a spot about 2 hours early though. The people that were behind me (about 3o min. later) kept exclaiming loudly how lame their spot was and they were there so early. Oh, well. Then it started getting tough to save a spot for four people, and I kept trying to stretch my legs out and such, but people are so pushy at the Magic Kingdom.
We watched the parade. Then they had a light show on the castle that was just very moving. After that we stayed for the fireworks b/c Dan wanted to. NEVER AGAIN. Seriously. I hate tight spaces and trying to move out of that place was impossible. Not worth it. Everyone is leaving at the same time and we finally get to our bus stop and it's forever long. By this point I'm carrying Ethan, and he's five you know, heavy, and I'm not all that strong. But, he was asleep and I didn't want to wake him. 50 minutes later our bus came and we were able to sit down. My poor arms, wow, they were so tired.
This is part of the magic. These balloon men are everywhere and they just look like Disney.
The sword in the stone. I wanted Ethan to pull it out. How cool would that have been? Someone else was lucky though right before him, so I knew he wouldn't get it out. But, he sure did try!
Jessie and Woody! (we didn't wait to see them, b/c the line was forever long)
Tea Cups! A favorite of the boys. (look at Owen with that paci in his mouth. I don't even recognize that face anymore)
Chip and Dale. Or Dale and Chip. I honestly don't have a clue which is which. For some reason before we even arrived at Disney all Ethan wanted to see was these guys. Hmm.. we finally found them dressed like space people. lol
Stich was so cute and fun!
This is the sidewalk parade that is during the day. I think it would go through twice a day. Ethan loved it and everytime it would start we'd have to stop and watch from wherever we were.
Mr. Incredible
This is the castle from Dumbo's point of view. :)
We did a LOT of this on our trip. Well, not a lot. We just zonked out fast and slept hard until morning and time to play again. This is pretty much all our room was ever used for. LOL
