Slacker...

I know I need to update. We've done some fun things, gone to Iowa, and just enjoyed life. But, I'm to lazy to update about anything at all. It'll get done soon... I hope.

One year stats...

Well, okay. One year and a month or so.... I kept having to move the doctor's visit b/c Owen would get sick. It's not a well visit if he's sick. He cried the entire visit. It's sad that my baby knows the doctor's office so well that he cries the entire time we are in the room and points to the door. It takes all my energy to keep him calm.

He weighs 21 pounds and is in the 16th percentile. He is 30 3/4 inches tall, and that is the 60th percentile. He's my little skinny kid. He has low iron and has for a while. At nine months it was in the low normal range. Then about a month ago we took him in b/c he was sick. His iron was low at that apt. Had his blood rechecked and it's still a bit low. So now we are having to really force iron rich foods. He's not to happy about all this. But, the doctor would rather get this under control with diet before we start an iron supplement.
Otherwise he is doing great. :) He has such a big personality. He loves his daddy and is a clear daddy's boy. He will eat almost anything you put in front of him (except the iron rich foods). He thinks that Ethan is the best thing ever and yells out "E" all the time. If I pick Owen up from daycare and Ethan went to preschool that day Owen gets all upset looking around for his "E". He has a smile that can melt anyone's heart. That smile will get him out of trouble one day. Speaking of trouble his new skill is climbing on the couches. He climbs up, sits there with this huge grin, then climbs down. Then the entire thing starts over again. He loves water and thinks the baby pool is the best thing ever. He has a stubborn side and really lets his opinion known. If he doesn't like something he lets you know about it.
Also, he bites. If he's mad, he lunges for you so that he can bite you. Thank the Lord that he doesn't have teeth. Hopefully we'll get this stopped before he gets some teeth. (Oh yeah and he doesn't have a single tooth yet....)
He is my baby cake and I love him so much. Our family is perfect with this little guy in it.

Water Play

Don't you just love summer? It is such a fun time and we love getting out and playing in the water. We hooked up the sprinkler system and let the boys just play. Owen liked it at first, until his face got wet. Then it was over and he started picking flowers. Ethan had a great time running as fast as he could through the water. Our fun was cut short when an afternoon thunderstorm rolled through, but it was fun while it lasted.

Zoo with Oma and Opa

A zoo trip with Oma and Opa was a lot of fun. We all really enjoyed ourselves and the zoo had lots of extra little activities out and around the place.
Riding the Merry Go Round.
These Gibbons were really putting on a show for us.
Ethan feeding a camel.
Snake anyone?

Splash Pad

Oma and Opa came for a visit and while they were here we took the kids to Harvest Park for some fun. It was Owen's first trip to a splash pad, and while he wasn't to sure at first he quickly warmed up.
Before the fun.
Ethan really liked playing on the playground a bit more than in the water. But, he was tempted by the water guns. ( I couldn't get him to hold still long enough to get a picture of the kid)
